The Family Code is the body of California Laws which deals with family related legal issues and domestic relations including marriage, civil unions and domestic partnerships. The Family Code also deals with legal issues related to marriage, domestic relationships, and dating relationships, including spousal abuse, child abuse,
domestic abuse, and
domestic violence. The above list is not intended to exhaustive of the potential family law issues which are presented to California Family Courts. Also, certain legal issues implicate the other California Codes, such as the Code of Civil Procedure, Evidence Code, and Penal Code.
